This piece has some texture on the surface and the flowers are highly textured. I incorporated abstract mark-making within the grass that creates very interesting areas to explore.
The poem “Wild”, by Becky Hemsley inspired this piece and title, the first in my Wildflowers Series. I created this piece for a Poetry-Inspired exhibition and read Becky’s poem at the opening. The first line is the title of this piece.
“You’re a wildflower, Darling. You cannot be tamed.”
