Mixed Media acrylic, 2026
14×18 on gallery wrapped canvas
I don’t typically paint my emotions. I use painting to lose myself in textures and colors and tactile sensations. I use painting to regulate my nervous system by engaging physically in an activity that calms and settles me.
But, I was feeling so much sadness and hurt. So, I decided to see what would happen if I put that crushing on canvas. I didn’t create multiple layers. I didn’t work in sessions. I got the pain out and then walked away.
Weeks later, I went back and added the writing and white splatters because there was some healing and understanding that had come.
And it was finished.
Wired and ready to hang
