This piece was one of the first three paintings that I exhibited. I spent a lot of time developing my personal style with this piece. I grew in confidence as I worked and reworked it.
The result is a symphony of textures, tools used, colors, melody & harmony of my developing identity as an artist.
I asked my friends on social media to help me name it.
Someone mentioned the word “rhubarb” and that caught my attention because my grandfather used to have a funny saying about rhubarb that became a great family memory.
My husband, who loves classical musical, suggested “rhapsody” to go along with “rhubarb”.
And Rhubarb Rhapsody was forever named.
